Overcomer’s Promise

“He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

~Revelation 21:7

Why does inspiration always seem to come at the strangest of times?!

A few days ago, I was reading through Revelation 2 and 3, and I noticed something that I had never really thought about before. These two chapters are the messages that Jesus told John to write down for the seven churches. But as I was reading, something caught my attention.

In each section, each one written to a different church, the same phrase is repeated in each of them.

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.”

This phrase was always written right at the end of each letter, and it seems to always introduce or follow a phrase that is written not only to that church in particular, but to any person that “has an ear to hear.”

Here’s an example from the letter to Ephesus:

“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.”

~Revelation 2:7

And there is a phrase like this at the end of each of the seven letters, each one with a different promise.

So as I was reading through them, something else caught my eye….every single one of these promises is given to “him that overcometh.”

We are entering the last days. The Bible is playing out right before our eyes. So now, it is more important than ever to stand strong, to overcome. I looked up “overcome” in the Strong’s concordance, and the definition that it gave was this:

nikaō

to subdue: — conquer, overcome, prevail, get the victory

The last definition was especially interesting because I found this verse shortly after…

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

“THEREFORE, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”

~1 Corinthians 15:57-58

God will give us the victory through Christ, therefore, we can overcome through Christ!! And because He has given us the victory, we can stand strong, we can be unmoveable, we can abound in doing Christ’s work! And our labour is not in vain! How incredible is that?!

I just found this so amazing.

So with all these things rushing around in my mind, last night, at 12:30 in the morning, ideas for a poem started coming to me. And so I stayed up for an extra hour, writing them all down. 😆

This morning, I took last night’s very rough draft, lol, and polished it up. So now, I thought that I would share it on here.:)

It’s based on the promises to the overcomer in Revelation 2 and 3, and there was also an overcomer phrase in Revelation 21:7, so that one is in there too. 😄

Keep pressing on, and standing strong in Him! There is a war to be fought, and a race to be won!

💖Always in Christ,

Sierra

Overcomer’s Promise

These things saith the Faithful and True,

Listen, for He is speaking to you.

To him who overcometh in the last day,

It is to him that this promise is made.

><>:<><

If you have an ear,

Listen, and you shall hear.

To the churches the Spirit hath said these things,

And the time of fulfillment is now drawing near.

><>:<><

To him that overcometh in the midst of the strife,

He will be given to eat of the Tree of Life.

A crown of life to him will be given,

The second death shall not hurt him, he will experience true living.

><>:<><

If you have an ear,

Listen, and you shall hear.

To the churches the Spirit hath said these things,

And the time of fulfillment is now drawing near.

><>:<><

To him that overcometh, though through trials driven,

I shall give him to eat of the manna hidden.

A white stone, a new name, engraved there within,

All these things shall be given to him.

><>:<><

If you have an ear,

Listen, and you shall hear.

To the churches the Spirit hath said these things,

And the time of fulfillment is now drawing near.

><>:<><

To him that overcometh, though the journey is far,

Unto him will be given the morning star.

In shining white raiment he shall be clothed,

And in Heaven with Me shall be his abode.

><>:<><

If you have an ear,

Listen, and you shall hear.

To the churches the Spirit hath said these things,

And the time of fulfillment is now drawing near.

><>:<><

To him that overcometh, faithful the road hath plodded,

His name out of the Book of Life, it shall not be blotted.

Before My Father and His angels, him will I confess,

For he hath given Me his all and offered nothing less.

><>:<><

If you have an ear,

Listen, and you shall hear.

To the churches the Spirit hath said these things,

And the time of fulfillment is now drawing near.

><>:<><

To him that overcometh, who hath wholly followed Me,

A pillar in God’s temple he shall always be.

Upon him, My God’s name I’ll write, and that of His city,

My new name I’ll also write, for eternal testimony.

><>:<><

If you have an ear,

Listen, and you shall hear.

To the churches the Spirit hath said these things,

And the time of fulfillment is now drawing near.

><>:<><

To him that overcometh, who the battle he hath won,

I shall always be his God, and he shall be My son.

I shall grant him also on the throne to sit with Me,

And this shall he inherit: all things shall his be.

><>:<><

If you have an ear,

Listen, and you shall hear.

To the churches the Spirit hath said these things,

And the time of fulfillment is now drawing near.
