The Brighter They Shine

We were just outside, taking our dog for a walk before we started to settle down for the night. It’s one of those nights, where everything outside looks a little darker than usual.

And then I looked up.

The view was incredible. The stars were just so bright. It’s one of those moments where you just stop and think, Wow.

This is becoming one of my favorite quotes, because it is just so true.

God’s promises are like the stars; the darker the night, the brighter they shine.

There is no denying it. Our country, our whole world in fact, is going through a very dark time right now. It’s so dark, that it can be hard to see the light at the end. We know how it ends. We know that God will stand triumphant after this all has passed. But the darkness still seems so dark.

But God has given us His promises.

He has given them to us, and we must cling to them! These will not fail. Even if everything else falls away, these will stand true. And these can be the light shining on our paths, if only we look to them. If only we cling to them. If we build our lives on anything except the Rock of God’s Word, our lives will fall apart. Because God is the ONLY true foundation.

So I’m going to take a minute here, and type out the promises of God.

Read them.

Think about them.

Cling to them.

Don’t let the darkness distract you anymore.

Keep looking to the Light, dear Believer! Keep looking to the true Light.

💖Always in Christ ,

  1. Girl, this post is so encouraging! When I was little, I remember singing some of these verses to myself whenever I got scared because they’re so comforting! This is such a great reminder that (quoting my pastor here) 😉 “Jesus is still on the throne” no matter how hard life can get.

  3. This was so beautiful, Sierra and very timely! God is with us whenever we go through dark times. We cannot handle anything on our own, which is why we must rely on Him. He is our stable Rock, which we can lean on. Thus, we are to trust Him! When we follow Christ’s way, there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel as we are following the Light. We never have to be afraid, or walk alone. He is in complete control and has a purpose in everything. ❤ We must trust His plan.

    • Amen! We are so, so weak, but HE is infinitely strong! He will carry us through the darkest of nights, and in Him is NO darkness at all! We can trust Him, and we can rest in His promises. He is so, so good to us! 💖 Thank you so much for the encouragement, friend!

  4. Amen Sierra! God is our refuge and strength! He is the one Who brings out every starry host one by one and calls them each by name. Because of His mighty strength and great power not one of them is missing. This world is very dark but the Lord’s arm is not too short to save or His ear too dull to hear! The enemy wants to whisper lies to make us think God is distracted, distant, because the enemy wants us too fear and feel helpless. BUT GOD IS OUR STRENGTH and REFUGE and we will place our trust in Him. “Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though it’s waters roar with foam and the mountains quake with their surging….the Lord Alamighty is with us.” 🙌🏻⚓️ Psalms 46:2,3,7
